Best for: People looking for a practical bed with plenty of storage
If you're trying to make the most of your bedroom space, the VECELO Double Bed Frame with Storage is an option worth considering. This design combines a bed frame with useful storage features, making it suitable for bedrooms where organisation is important.
The frame includes a bookcase-style headboard, four under-bed drawers and a charging station, giving you somewhere to store belongings and keep everyday essentials close by.
The headboard can also provide a convenient place for books, a phone or other small items. This could be particularly useful in bedrooms where bedside tables are limited.
Key features
Double bed frame measuring approximately 135 × 190 cm.
Four under-bed storage drawers.
Bookcase-style headboard.
Integrated charging station.
Platform-style design.
Why consider it?
The VECELO bed is a practical choice for anyone who wants to combine sleeping space with additional storage. The integrated features could help reduce clutter and make better use of a smaller bedroom.
Things to consider: Check the exact dimensions, assembly requirements and whether the mattress is included before purchasing.
Best for: People looking for a complete bed set
Buying a bed frame and mattress separately can sometimes be expensive and inconvenient. The SANA SLEEP Double Bed Set offers an alternative by combining a bed frame with a mattress.
This model includes an upholstered bed design, an orthopaedic-style mattress and two drawers for additional storage. It is available in a double-bed size, making it suitable for couples or individuals who want more sleeping space.
The upholstered design can also give a bedroom a more traditional and comfortable appearance.
Key features
Double-bed size.
Includes a mattress.
Two storage drawers.
Upholstered bed frame.
Designed as a complete bed set.
Why consider it?
A complete bed set can be convenient if you're replacing an existing bed and mattress at the same time. Having both included means you don't necessarily need to search for a compatible mattress separately.
Things to consider: Mattress firmness is a personal preference, so check the mattress specifications carefully. The term “orthopaedic” should not be taken as a guarantee of medical benefits.
Best for: People looking for a straightforward, budget-friendly bed frame
A metal platform bed frame can be a good option if you want a simple design without spending money on an elaborate headboard or upholstery.
Zinus is a recognised brand in the bed and mattress market, and its metal platform frames are designed to provide a straightforward foundation for a mattress.
The Zinus platform bed range includes designs with metal construction, mattress-support slats and space beneath the bed. Depending on the model, the clearance underneath can also be useful for storing boxes or other belongings.
Key features
Metal platform construction.
Simple, minimalist appearance.
Available in different sizes.
Under-bed clearance on selected models.
Designed to support a separate mattress.
Why consider it?
This type of bed frame is worth considering if you already own a mattress or want to choose your mattress separately. Its simple design can also work well in modern bedrooms and guest rooms.
Things to consider: Zinus sells several different bed-frame models, so check the exact listing for the size, weight capacity, dimensions and included components.
Best for: People who want a traditional divan-style bed
The Bed Centre Ziggy Grey Plush Divan Bed Set combines a padded bed base with a mattress, making it another option for anyone looking for a complete sleeping solution.
The grey plush finish gives the bed a softer, more traditional appearance, while the divan-style design can work well in a range of bedrooms.
The set is available in different sizes, although the exact options depend on the individual Amazon listing.
Key features
Grey plush upholstered finish.
Divan-style bed base.
Includes a mattress.
Available in selected UK bed sizes.
Traditional bedroom design.
Why consider it?
A divan bed can be a good choice for anyone who prefers a substantial bed base rather than a raised metal or wooden frame. Buying the base and mattress together may also make the purchasing process more convenient.
Things to consider: Check whether storage drawers are included, as some divan models have storage while others do not. Also, confirm the mattress type and firmness before ordering.
Best for: Couples who want a larger sleeping area
If you have enough bedroom space and prefer a larger bed, a king-size model could be worth considering.
The SANA SLEEP King Size Bed Set includes a bed frame, mattress and two storage drawers. Its upholstered design provides a more substantial appearance, while the additional sleeping space makes it suitable for couples who prefer not to sleep on a double bed.
The storage drawers can also be useful for keeping bedding, clothing or other bedroom items organised.
Key features
King-size bed.
Includes a mattress.
Two storage drawers.
Upholstered design.
Available in different colours, depending on the listing.
Why consider it?
A king-size bed can provide additional room for couples and may be a worthwhile upgrade if your current bed feels cramped. The included mattress and storage features also make this a practical option for someone furnishing a bedroom from scratch.
Things to consider: A UK king-size bed is typically 150 × 200 cm, but the overall frame will be larger. Measure your bedroom carefully before ordering and check the delivery arrangements.
What Should You Consider Before Buying a Bed?
Before choosing a bed on Amazon, there are several important things to check.
1. Bed size
Make sure you choose the correct size for your bedroom and mattress. Common UK sizes include:
Bed size | Approximate mattress dimensions |
Single | 90 × 190 cm |
Small double | 120 × 190 cm |
Double | 135 × 190 cm |
King | 150 × 200 cm |
Super king | 180 × 200 cm |
Always check the manufacturer's measurements, as the overall bed frame will usually be larger than the mattress.
2. Is the mattress included?
Some Amazon listings sell bed frames only, while others include a mattress.
If a mattress is included, check:
The mattress type.
Its thickness.
Its firmness.
Whether it is rolled or vacuum-packed.
Whether it comes with a guarantee.
3. Storage space
If your bedroom is small, a bed with drawers or under-bed clearance could provide valuable additional storage.
However, check how much space is actually available and whether the drawers can open fully in your room.
4. Assembly
Many beds purchased online require self-assembly. Before ordering, check customer reviews for comments about:
The clarity of the instructions.
The time required to assemble the bed.
The quality of the included fixings.
Whether two people are needed for assembly.
5. Delivery and returns
Beds can be large and heavy, so check the delivery arrangements before purchasing. It is also worth reviewing the return policy and checking whether the seller offers delivery to your postcode.
Final Thoughts
Amazon offers a variety of beds for different budgets, bedroom sizes and personal preferences. Whether you want a simple metal frame, a practical storage bed or a complete bed-and-mattress set, there are plenty of options to explore.
The VECELO bed frame is worth considering if storage and functionality are important, while the SANA SLEEP bed sets may appeal to people who want a complete bed solution. Those looking for a straightforward frame could also explore the Zinus range.
Before making a purchase, compare the dimensions, mattress specifications, customer reviews and total cost to find an option that suits your bedroom.
